Question by : What are some examples of Northeastern America style clothing for men and women?
I am working on another novel about a girl who moves from a small town south of Portland, Maine, to Cedar Park, Texas, right off of Austin. At some point in my book, the main character notices the difference in clothing between the Southern style and New England style. I live in Texas, and I know what the style is here. But, I have never been to New England. I was curious as to what type of clothing is popular there? Like I know in the Northwest (like Washington state area) plaid is a very popular style. Could you provide a few examples of styles popular in New England?

Northeastern America covers a lot of territory and fashion styles. For instance, the person who lives and works in Boston, Massachusetts may well have much different fashion preferences and needs than someone who lives and works in a rural area of Maine.
That said, you may want to visit the L.L. Bean website at: http://www.llbean.com/. They are a large retailer of not only outdoor recreational gear, but men’s and women’s apparel, as well. With a flagship store located in Freeport, Maine, their merchandise is very popular with people throughout the region (as well as domestic and international visitors).
