Q&A: What makeup item would you choose to wear first if you were just starting out with makeup?

I am a 13 year old girl in 8th grade and am not yet allowed to wear makeup.

I have thought up a ‘plan’ that my mother agrees with: every year I will be allowed to wear one or two new makeup products. For example, this year I will be able to curl my eyelashes and apply one coat of mascara. Next year, I will be able to curl my eyelashes, apply two coats of mascara, and apply one or two new makeup products.

My question: which new makeup product(s) would you choose to wear each year?

It depends. I know the first thing I got was concealer and foundation because my acne was bad. If you like your skin, go for something more fun.
