Question by jamesME: Can the japanese embassy accept ss number printed in my company id for visa application?
Im planning to get a japan visa for work. I was invited by a university in japan to make a research there. All documents are all set except for one: a photocpoy of sss id. I dont have an ss card yet, but i already have an ss number and it is printed on my company id. Can this be accepted by the japanese embassy? Im filipino by the way.

Your SS Card is issued at the same time as your SSN so why don’t you have it?
Nevertheless you can get a copy of your SS Card
You can replace your Social Security card for free if it is lost or stolen.
To replace a lost Social Security card:
* Complete an Application For A Social Security Card (Form SS-5); and
* Show documents proving your identity.
* Show us documents proving your current, lawful, work-authorized status if you are not a U.S. citizen.
In most cases, you can mail or take your application and original documents to your local Social Security office. If you live in the New York City metropolitan area, Las Vegas Nev. Orlando Fla., Sacramento, Calif. or Phoenix Ariz., you may need to apply in person at your local Social Security Card Center.
All documents must be either originals or copies certified by the issuing agency. We cannot accept photocopies or notarized copies of documents.
