Question by DramaGeek: What is the name of the artist known for painting women with long, flowing hair?
I recently saw the PBS episode of Craft in America- Landscape. One of the artists mentioned in passing that they were inspired by an artist who often painted women with long, flowing hair. They showed an example of that inspirational artist’s work and it was beautiful. What is the name of the artist of the painting?

I`m in UK , and never saw that programme. But the PreRaphaelites, a Uk art movement of 1848 onwards, painted women with long flowing hair. Especially Edward Burne-Jones, and Rossetti, 2 members of the PreRaphaelite Brotherhood. If you look them up on the net, you will know if these are the artists that impressed you so. Also look up Millais, another of the Pre Raphaelites. He did a painting of Ophelia, dead in the water, with long flowing hair and surrounded by flowers. She was a character from Shakespeare`s Hamlet. Good luck with your search. These are the artists that come to mind, who painted women with long flowing hair.
