Question by HyperBeauty: What type of paint would be the best to use for someone transitioning from drawing to painting?
I love to draw/sketch. I wanna start using paints but the few I have tried have really not worked for me. I’ve tried water color and acrylics. On the one hand sometimes I feel the need for a thicker paint but then feel my painting could benefit by water color. I also am not sure what types of paints go with which canvases. HELP!

One of characteristics of watercolor is fluidity. Having said that, watercolor painting should not be thick. Every brushstroke is light (not tonality but touch) and thin basically, and layers are created to have depth and substances. Acrylic painting can be thick or thin. You can make acrylic painting look like a little like watercolor by diluting the paint. You can make acrylic look like oil, and people cannot tell the difference easily.
It depends on what suits you. If you like oil painting look, you should try oil or acrylic. If you like watercolor look, you should try watercolor. And it never hurts to try everything to find out what you like.
